Horse fun

Amaya's friend birthday party was SO fun! We were going to do a very simple party at our house after school on a Friday that they had a half day, but after talking to the horse trainer, Gabriella, things changed a bit. We set up horse riding lessons for Amaya for her bday gift, we knew this was just the perfect gift for her, as horses are "her thing". After talking with Gabriella, then discussing with Scott, we came to the decision of having a full size horse come to our house for her birthday party. This was going to be a complete surprise for everyone here. We were so excited to see the expression on her face when that horse would come walking around the corner of the house. The horse would be here for a full 2 hours and all the kids would be able to ride it. About 45 minutes into the party and 30 minutes before the planned arrival of the horse, it started to downpour. I really hesitated about what to do, because I had it all planned out in my head and I just wanted it to work. So after much thought, we loaded up all the kids and headed out to the equestrian center. Who knew that all that rain was actually the best thing that could have happened in the planning.

When we got there, the kids immediately started running around and helping themselves to hay to feed the horses, and whatever they wanted. It was total excitement for everyone.

Ruth and Gabriella were so nice, patient and kind. They just let the kids do whatever they wanted. Each one got to ride a horse, Cheyenne, 2 times and just had a ball. We had cake and ice cream there and everyone got a blue ribbon. God had a plan for us with that rain, he knew!

They had so much fun and it would not have compared to what we were doing at our house.

Amaya's first riding lesson is tonight, she is so excited and has been talking about it all week. Last night she changed her earrings to horse earrings, she picked out horse decorated clothing, and is wearing her cowgirl boots. She has it all planned out.

Amaya, last night, listing stuff off right before bed;

"Earrings...check"

"Clothes....check"

"Have a good time...check"

"Tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life"

I love it that she is so excited. I can't wait til I take her tonight.
