Elevated Troponin

According to the ICU nurse, Kathy, my dad had a pretty good night. "He is quite the talker", she told me this am, and I had to laugh. He didn't sleep well, but that is pretty much the norm in a hospital, especially ICU. His troponin (a heart specific enzyme that measures heart damage) is actually elevated this am. When he got there yesterday, he was at 2.4, which is also elevated (normal is <0.1)and this morning it is 8.2. What??? She told me that it usually still goes up after the cath, but I think this is higher than the expected. We will have to see what the doctor says.
Thank you for all of you support, love and PRAYERS.

Dr. Boyer told me once that lots of times your Tropoin is higher the day after you have a MI and then slowly works its way down. So maybe it is on its way down, you are in my thoughts.

I hope everything is alright. We will be up North probably through Sunday but if you need to talk or vent you can try Trent's cell. We will check it periodically.

Registration for the class doesn't start until the 15th or something so we can work that our next week. Or you could check out the MCC website maybe?

Take care of that family of yours!!! ((HUGS))! jj
